Frequently Asked Questions

Read some of the frequently asked questions from others looking to participate in the Twilight Walk.

How long is the route?

You can choose between a 5km or 10km walk. If you start the 10km but decide it’s a bit too much on the day, don’t worry — there’ll be a clearly marked shortcut so you can head back and complete around half the distance instead.

All your event‑day information will be emailed to you two weeks before the walk. This email will include details on how to collect your walking number and t-shirt.

To help your walk go smoothly, please bring:

  • Pins for attaching your walking number
  • A pen to fill out emergency details on the back of your number
  • A bottle of water (there will also be water available on the route)
  • A torch, as the event finishes after dark

You’ll need to pin your walking number to the front of your clothing before the walk begins.

Comfort is key! We recommend:

  • Sturdy walking shoes or trainers
  • Weather‑appropriate clothing
  • Bright or reflective items for visibility
  • Glow sticks, flashing lights, or fun accessories
  • And of course… fancy dress is highly encouraged!

There won’t be any changing rooms or storage areas available. Please bring only what you need or leave belongings with friends and family who come to support you.

Jeanette's Story

“Mum was only at the hospice for a week and other than being at home, which wasn’t possible because of her pain, I wouldn’t have wanted her to be anywhere else. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with such care and consideration.”
