Sarah Beard and her partner, James started fundraising this year in memory of Sarah’s Dad, Tim who was cared for in the hospice and passed away after a battle with throat cancer. Tim was just 51 years old.
This year Sarah was inspired to take up running, starting with the Couch to 5K challenge and then together with James they have now taken on 3 half marathons in 3 months raising a total of £2,250 including some match-funding from Sarah’s employer, Barclays. Sarah also promoted her fundraising link on social media and kept friends and family updated with their training progress on their Justgiving page which she said really helped increase their fundraising total.
Starting with the London Landmarks Half in August, the couple then signed up for the Northampton Half in September and then finally, thinking ‘what else can we do’ they did the Rock N Roll Liverpool Half in October rounding off 3 half marathons!
