About us
Cynthia Spencer Hospice provides specialist palliative care services for West Northamptonshire, in patient homes and in the hospice.

We provide specialist palliative care for people living with a life-limiting illness. We support patients, their families, and those who care for them across West Northamptonshire

At Cynthia Spencer Hospice we provide inpatient care, outpatient services, wellbeing services, Hospice@Home, lymphoedema services and palliative care services with a clinical nurse specialist service.

Our core team consists of specialist palliative medicine consultants who work alongside a team of doctors and specialist nurses within the Hospice and the local community. Our team also work within Northampton General Hospital and Danetre Hospital in Daventry.

Our clinical services are free thanks to the joint funding provided by the Northampton Integrated Care Board and the funds raised by supporters of Cynthia Spencer Hospice.

Richard's Story

Richard was a very kind, caring man, very quiet too until he got to know you… hard working and happy to be at home with his family… loved his dogs, fishing and motorcycles.

Referrals for our hospice services are usually made via a patient's GP, district nurse or hospital consultant and nurses.

How we are funded

The specialist palliative care service in Northamptonshire is jointly funded by the Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity, Cransley Hospice Trust and the Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board, who together commission Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to provide our clinical services.

The cost of running the hospice services across Northamptonshire is over £11 million. Every year a percentage of this money comes from the generous support of companies and individuals throughout the county who support Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity and Cransley Hospice Trust.
