Staff from RBS Invoice Finance lend a hand at Cynthia Spencers Donation Station

RBS Invoice Finance lend a hand to Cynthia Spencer Hospice as part of year of support

Colleagues from the Northampton office of RBS Invoice Finance joined forces recently to hold a volunteering day at Cynthia Spencer Hospice’s Donation Station. RBS are amongst several large companies to have given up their time recently to assist Cynthia Spencer’s retail team by rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in.

Sara-Jane Harris, relationship manager at RBS Invoice Finance thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and said: “Our team from RBS Invoice Finance had a fantastic day volunteering at Cynthia Spencer’s warehouse. We sorted through bags of clothing donations and electrical items and printed out labels for the shop’s Saturday open day. It was great to meet the team and have the opportunity to see the  work they do here first hand. It was also a great team building opportunity for us and we’re looking forward to returning to help out again in the future.”

Team members also took photographs of donated items such as collectibles and listed them for sale on eBay, a key focus area for Cynthia Spencer’s retail team in maximising income generation for the Hospice.

Chelsea Galpin, corporate partnerships fundraiser at Cynthia Spencer Hospice commented: “It was fantastic to have the team from RBS with us at our Donation Station and wonderful that they had such a great day. Each team member contributed an enormous amount of energy and enthusiasm to their volunteering roles and they will certainly have made a difference by just giving up a few hours. We look forward to seeing more of the team as they have adopted the Hospice as their Charity of the Year.

“The Donation Station is the perfect place for businesses to come for a volunteering day. A large amount of our income is generated from this building so it’s vitally important we get large teams in regularly to help. As the work is very varied it allows staff to have fun and be creative, learn new skills and really engage with the work of the Hospice so they understand how their hard work is helping our patients and their families live life to the full, now and in the future.”
