Optimising Mobility

Falls and poor mobility are very common problems for patients who have a life limiting condition. Falls can be disabling, frightening and distressing for all those concerned. This leaflet will explain how the Optimising Mobility & Falls Prevention course can help.

Who is the course for?

The Optimising Mobility & Falls Prevention course is for patients who are troubled by falls, for patients who are at risk of a fall, and for patients who may benefit from a self-help programme in order to manage their poor mobility.

What does it involve?

The course runs for 6 weeks and you will be required to attend once a week for 2 hours. In each session the team will look at ways that you can help to reduce a slip, trip or fall. Enabling you to continue to live as independently as possible. Each session will include education, physical activity and relaxation section.

  • Keeping well
  • Safety, equipment and adaptations in the home
