Memory Tree

Our Memory Tree is a unique symbol, honouring the lives and souls of loved ones no longer with us. It stands proudly in the hospice’s reception area, welcoming visitors and touching the hearts of our friends, family members and the hospice team.

We are incredibly proud to display this beautiful piece of art in the hospice, continually warmed by how it brings together so many families and individuals from our community. There is a true sense of celebration, belonging and understanding which our tree so perfectly represents. It’s a poignant reminder of the warmth and solace nurses and support staff bring to patients’ lives.

It was once said that trees indeed have hearts. That is how we recognise the Memory Tree – a growing, blossoming, loving heart within our hospice and our community.

Dedicating your leaf

We offer three types of leaf: gold, silver and bronze. Each leaf carries an engraving – the name of your loved one and a special message – and is a simple, beautiful tribute to the memory of someone special.

We also offer option to accompany your dedication with either a regular gift to the hospice or the option to make a one off donation.

Leaf options

A huge thank you to Steve Pete and everyone at Hendersons Fabrications for their support with our memory tree. Hendersons not only designed but also manufactured and delivered the tree completely for free

What your donations will pay for

A bronze leaf (minimum annual contribution £84) pays for transport to our Wellbeing Centre. This allows wellbeing patients to attend sessions where they can learn coping techniques for symptoms such as fatigue, breathlessness – and receive support to help manage symptoms at home.

A silver leaf (minimum annual contribution £237) could cover the cost of five home visits from a Hospice at Home nurse. Home visits mean a patient could receive specialised care in the comfort of their own home, while also providing family members with precious respite.

A gold leaf (minimum annual contribution £504) provides 24 hours of nursing support for somebody in our inpatient unit. Every day here at the hospice is special for those on their end of life journey. Our dedicated nursing team ensures that everyone who stays with us receives exceptional care.
