Terri Barrick and her work friends at the Open University wanted to raise funds in memory of their colleague Tracy Finnegan. Upon raising £560.00 for the Hospice at their cake sale, Terri said:
“Those of us fortunate enough not to have had to face the imminent death of either ourselves or a loved one from terminal illness, can only imagine how frightening that might be. Tracy was faced with this prospect and spent her last weeks at Cynthia Spencer Hospice. When talking about her situation Tracy said of the hospice ‘I feel safe here’. What more can any of us hope for than feeling safe at such a time, so the best thing her colleagues felt we could do in Tracy’s memory was to raise some funds to support this wonderful place and help it continue to offer comfort to others in similar circumstances”.
