Mozart and Haydn were the giants of the classical period, and these two works represent their astounding genius for setting the most dramatic biblical texts to music.
The Creation is Haydn's greatest oratorio, achieving global success even during his lifetime, and to this day it remains in the top ten pieces of classical choral music for many people.
Much of the Requiem was written on Mozart's death bed, with the unfinished movements finished by Franz Sussmayr. The final moments of his short but incredible life are encapsulated in his music of such intensity, beauty, drama, emotion and devotion.
Please note: The performance will begin at 6.30pm with a picnic break between 7.30pm - 8.30pm in the rural setting of Everdon Churchyard.
