The Terry Wire Harley Davidson Memorial Run on Saturday 9th April saw around 190 Harley-Davidson and Buell bikers roar into Abington Street from all around the country to support Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
A street collection, donations from the riders themselves and a raffle and barbecue held by Harley specialists Northants V-Twin raised a record £2,557 for the Hospice.
John Helm, Fundraising Manager said “Once again the Harley and Buell community have given the people of Northampton a wonderful sight, paying a wonderful tribute to Terry Wire and the work he did for the people of Northampton. Our thanks go out to all the riders for turning out and to the public who supported the Hospice collection." He added "This event could not happen without the work of Fran Wire and her family and of Dave and Julie Baringer of Northants V-Twin and their volunteers who marshalled the event so well."
Our thanks also go out to Northampton Borough Council who allowed the riders back onto Abington Street this year, which made a massive difference to the record total raised by the event.
