Sedgebrook Hall Hotel's two-year Charity adoption of the Hospice has produced innovative ways of supporting the Hospice, as well as raising a wonderful £1,462.18 for the Hospice.
As well as hosting away days for our Hospice nurses, our Day Hospice patients also enjoyed a visit to the picturesque hotel for a food demonstration by Hotel chefs. The same chefs were then on hand to cook the meat course for the Day Hospice Christmas dinner.
Staff have all pitched in their support fundraising too, from taking on our Cycle4Cynthia, Three Peaks Challenge and Firewalk events, to holding a Cake Sale, Farmers Market and Jumper Day, as well as taking car park donations. The hotel has also donated a luxury stay for a prize at our annual It's a Knockout event too.
John Helm, Fundraising Manager (pictured receiving a cheque from staff in Sedgebrook Hall Hotel's beautiful Japanese garden) said “The £1,462.18 raised by staff is a vital contribution to our our Hospice service. But this adoption has been so much more important for the way Hotel staff have been able to add so much more value through the experiences our nurses and patients have had. This is a superb example of how a business can not only raise funds to support our service, but can make a huge difference through in-kind gifts too. We'd like to pass on our thanks to everyone at Sedgebrook Hall Hotel for their wonderful support."
