Giving in memory

Fundraise in memory

Making a donation in memory of a loved one is a positive way to celebrate a life whilst helping other families to receive our care when they need it most.

At Cynthia Spencer Hospice, we know that dealing with a loss can be very difficult, particularly on an anniversary, at Christmas and on other special occasions. Everybody finds their own way, and everyone will know what is best for them. We hope that the options shown below will provide a meaningful way for you to pay tribute to the loved one that you miss.

Donations in memory - A lasting gift

Asking for donations to Cynthia Spencer Hospice in place of floral tributes at a funeral is a very special way of remembering, celebrating and honouring the life of a family member or friend.

Long after flowers have faded, this type of ‘in memory’ donation will live on in the work the Hospice does to care for people with life-limiting illnesses. For some people this is their way of expressing the caring nature of their loved one whilst helping our charity to make a lasting impact on the lives of others.

Your ‘Instead of Flowers’ donations can be easily organised. If you are placing a notice of funeral details in the press, you can add a line to say ‘Donations to Cynthia Spencer Hospice’. You can also display our donation envelopes in the crematorium or the church.

We will write to a family member of the person being honoured to let them know how much in total has been raised. No individual amounts are ever disclosed.

Your wonderful tribute will be a lasting gift for others.

Tree of Love

Christmas can be a particularly difficult time following bereavement. It can trigger many different emotions including celebration and remembrance.

Our Tree of Love services give us the opportunity to remember, celebrate and ‘light up a life’ of our loved-one in a positive way.

People from all faiths and beliefs are invited to remember a loved one or to honour a friend, relative or colleague with our special Tree of Love services, both of which are held at Northampton Cathedral in December.

If you would like to receive an invitation to our Tree of Love services, please contact Debbie on 01604 210941 to register your details.
